Social Studies Test Friday

Your child has a social studies test on Friday, September 29 on Michigan’s vegetation and climate. They should have brought home a study guide and a set of flash cards to help them study. They will need to know the following:

Two Types of vegetation and an example of each:

Forests (National, State, and Commercial)

 Orchards (Apple, Blueberry, Strawberries)

Climate: is the temperatures and precipitation our state has.

Examples:

  • It is colder in the U.P.
  • It rains and snows more on the west side of Michigan
  • Michigan has four seasons: winter, spring, summer, fall

State Symbols: Be able to name three

  • State Flower: Apple blossom
  • State Bird: Robin
  • State Stone: Petoskey Stone
  • State Game Mammal: White Tailed Deer

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY SCHEDULES TO HELP YOUR CHILD STUDY FOR THIS TEST. IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED.
